Solution

Accurate working hour information is vital for calculating operating costs and evaluating the profitability of specific projects. Furthermore, knowing the exact ignition time is essential for monitoring fuel consumption accurately, allowing us to assess vehicle efficiency and implement fuel-saving measures. With the installation of the FMB125 GPS tracker, we gain access to ignition On/Off time, including the starting time.

Challenges

During the initial installation stage, measuring the car tank presented challenges due to its enormous and deep design. To overcome this, the tank’s volume was measured using two approaches – once from the outside and once from the inside.

In the case of the excavator, its tank body was constructed with thick SS steel, making the drilling process time-consuming, and taking over two hours. Calibrating the excavator’s tank also proved to be a lengthier task, given its substantial capacity of 460 liters.

Result

By utilizing the FMB125 GPS tracker and the Bongo IoT software, SSC can now enhance excavator vehicle maintenance schedules, optimize fuel consumption, and improve overall operational efficiency. This, in turn, contributes to cost savings, increased productivity, and a more profitable business outlook.
